Re: Odd rendering errors on Android

Here you go! This shows the same effect. Also, any other objects behind those auras seem to be hidden. Perhaps the problem is with the rendering order.

Thanks for helping me! :)

Re: Odd rendering errors on Android

Exactly. There is also a transparent sprite on top of it (the aura-effect). This seems to hide the asteroids behind it. (Which are normal meshes.)

Odd rendering errors on Android

I have pretty much finished a new game! But when running it on Android some weird things happen. It seems transparency isn't rendered correctly. (Or things are rendered in an incorrect order. Below is a screenshot of how it looks on my PC and one of how it looks on my Galaxy Tab 3. Any idea what mig...

Re: Butterfly

The overworld and intro sections look great. You are really good artist :).
Indeed, that intro looks amazing! Wish I could draw like that. ;)

Sweatpants Simon: Escape From Slumtown - Released

Yep! After a very long time of working on it little by little between other projects, Sweatpants Simon: Escape From Slumtown is finally done! Thanks to everyone on this forum who has helped out with various problems and testing. :D The official release is here : https://play.google.com/store/apps/de...

Oh, and here is a screen from 1.5. Just for the sake of seeing the progress compared to previous screens. :)

Re: Resource Wars

Thanks! :D Yeah, that twitch could probably be fixed. Might take a look at that when my current projects are complete. :) As for control, an undocumented feature is that scrolling can be done using arrow keys or WASD. This helps navigating a lot, especially when playing in window mode. :) That only ...

Re: Android limitations

Awesome! Now it is down to 58 mb, and works on both my phones! :D It works rather well too, though a few things need tweaking for the touch interface. I'm currently working on that. The hardest part is the sound effects - for some reason many of them still sound coarse on Android. (And a few are jus...

Re: Android limitations

Thanks! Great to know it works on another phone. Guess mine simply are a bit old. :) This game feels much more polished and fun than the last version I played. Great work, really original and wonderfully weird! Btw, I checked your page and also found a final version of Resource Wars, that looks grea...

Re: Android limitations

Here it is. :) The APK is only 6.4 mb, but the uncompressed EXE for the PC version is 132. I tried to check the Android log, but since my device isn't rooted (I'm looking into it though) I couldn't get it to list anything. I've heard using the official SDK I can display that info anyway, but I don't...

Re: Android limitations

Thanks for your suggestions! The game now runs, but not on my devices. :) I have reduced the games size from 360 MB to 132 MB. I've been converting graphics to JPG, reducing size of images as well as cutting a few things that weren't necessary. But I still can't get the game to run on my phones. Rad...

Re: Android limitations

I have tried to reduce size a bit, to at least help the problem, but it didn't amount to much. Mainly because I thought removing the alpha channel from my png:s would reduce the uncompressed size (going from 32 bit to 24 bit), but that didn't seemed to help at all. Shouldn't it? The only thing I can...

Re: Android limitations

Automatic scaling down would be a very useful option! Especially if you can adjust how much, so there could be a phone setting which does more scaling down than the tablet setting. Any other optimizations in this area would of course be useful too. Now that you mention it, I could remove the alpha c...

Re: Camera capture for ZGE

Very cool! Not sure I would use it, but it would be cool to do a Wario Ware/Eye Toy-like game sometime. :)
