One final kick at Mic... The reason for the bloat is 1) enormous legacy compliance, and 2) use of in-house formats, specifically bitmap and zip. Theoretically, you could replace .bmp with .jpg for scenery and .png for characters, for an enormous saving in file size. Then you could compress it all wi...

Oh yeah, I'm confident it would play. I'm just not interested in taking on an extra $20CDN / month expense forever, just for a one shot thing. I've railed on about this before somewhere here. I don't download movies, or music, or hugely bloated games, so high speed is unnecessary. I know that the gr...

Hmm... at least
http://www.zgameeditor.org/videos/test.html
works, allthough it is the size of a playing card. I couldn't get jph's avi to play at all.
edit - found the expand button - works
edit - it should be downloadable

Hello - My name is Stephen H. France That's the first confusion when meeting me because I'm Welsh, more than anything else. Some say that no one under thirty should be allowed to name children. Apparently my parents wanted to bring back ancient history. You be the judge. Born Victoria BC Canada , 19...

I unzip a copy of ZGameEditorBeta, the current or previous, it doesn't matter. I open editor and go directly to the FPSdemo, load and <start>. Runs normal. I shut down the editor, it creates its .ini file. I open the editor; it opens at the FPSdemo, and I <start>. Black walls! I go to Content/Wall/...

Serendipity. It just so happens that right now I am part of a situation elsewhere that has some bearing on this. A developer created many demos of his app and used the Zlib zip library to compress his content into .zip / .dat files. His program would unzip and load .dat content as needed. He does no...

Well, I agree that the mouse aiming is difficult. Why, because we have to pilot two vehicles PLUS avoid predators with only one of them PLUS aim and fire, all at the same time. I lose track of which hand is doing what. I can see a programmed AI accomplishing this feat, but not us single-minded human...
