Firefox blocks download of latest version

Browser Firefox strongly advise against downloading the latest version of ZgameEditor because it is marked
as an unsafe application. Download location was http://www.zgameeditor.org/files/ZGameEditor_beta.zip.
Looking at the older release 3.0.0 there is no such warning in Firefox but uploading the zip file to the
site virustotal.com doesn´t really give the impression that this older version is safe either.

The question is: Is this a safe product to download and use?

Hi,

I get that in Firefox here too. Annoying. I ran ZGameEditor.exe on virustotal and it came up clean: https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/11363 ... /detection

(1/69 can be considered clean)

It seems Firefox uses some database for checks from google that does cause false positives: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/commen ... lware_and/

These databases sometimes cause a lot of false positives but hopefully will restore themselves after a few days when they have received reports.

There is a problem in general with virus scanners that they consider small executables suspicious. And since small executables is exactly what ZGE is about there have been issues from time to time.

To my knowledge there have never been any actual malware in any ZGameEditor download. I have my working PC clean, I perform virus scans, and never install any suspect software that could affect the ZGE builds.

An update: the latest build is no longer blocked by Firefox. With help from Kjell we did some changes to reduce the amount of false positives in antivirus scanners.
