New look?

Post by y offs et »

In my current project I have a complex project tree, as you can see below. At this point I have finished the first, albeit largest, of three planned stages, so the complexity is going to increase. With those components spread out, it was difficult for my eye to pick the next component, out of all the like icons. So I took a crack at designing some new ones. You like?

I like them. I will put them in the next update (unless someone has another opinion).

i think that it would definitely be cool to have a more icons available. i'm afraid that i'm rather picky in that regard though (being about to finish academic training in design sometimes does that ;)). i think that new icons would either have to mesh perfectly with the established ones, or redefine the entire set. this way, we would ensure that all the images relate to each other in consistent ways, e.g. the way that both of your '...state' components are green versions of their respective parent component.
i guess that's a rather tricky endeavour, since the components engulf anything from 'objects' (Model) to 'mechanics' (MouseModelController) to 'concepts' (MeshLoop); in that regard, and seeing as the existing icon set still works in a way, we might consider simply incrementally including what is needed.

edit: so yeah, put them in :)
