I've heard of that program yes, but most animators ( and programmers ) don't like those kind of solutions. Animators prefer having full control and only a small margin of games require physically correct animations ( maybe Boxing simulations .. not Punch Out though ). Not to mention that Maya / Max / Softimage have simulation tools build-in as well that animators might be more familiar with already.
And I'd recommend Softimage Mod Tool ( FKA XSI Mod Tool ) as animation software for beginners
