If we create an abstract layer for different GL-compatibility levels we can support more advanced rendering modes for the higher levels.
Don't worry about it. It's already possible to do deferred rendering in ZGE ( quite easily actually ) .. as long as people aren't locked into a "fixed" deferred pipeline without being able to customize / set up their own, I don't mind either way.

Attached is a example project using the new Camera component. Press any arrow key to toggle between Perspective and Orthographic.
