an open source b(v)oxel engine - a community project?

I have just started reading, but got me thinking again about a ZGE community project, to get some sort of basic game setup built as an open project people can expand on to make their own games.
Since b(v)oxels are rather popular currently, and seems like something that would attract more people to zge, perhaps we could work on implementing a basic b(v)oxel game engine in zge.
Anyone interested?
