I've invented the cheapest, easiest, and most reliable homemade stylus yet.
The problem with stylus's is the tip needs to conduct minute levels of electricity, and yet be deform-able as the tool is moved through various angles of use.
Take a pencil, sticky tape, and a Q-tip. Pick a Q-tip with a large volume of cotton, yet also a tapered end. Attach the Q-tip so the cotton ends and the pencil begins - it's important to attach it firmly.
Take a 10 cm. square piece of tinfoil and wrap the combo so that the edge of the tinfoil contacts about 1/4 - 1/3 of the Q-tip. Since the combo is no longer a round pencil, but now has a spline Q-tip, the tinfoil can be molded around the irregular shape and will tend to stay in place by itself. A little tape at both ends to prevent unwinding.
Now, the magic step. Dip the Q-tip in water and shake off excess. Use on your screen. It's water - it evaporates - in about twenty minutes you may have to (gasp!) dip and shake again.
